All indications point to Congress passing an economic bailout plan today. The AP reports, “Key lawmakers who struck a post-midnight deal on a $700 billion bailout for the financial industry predicted Sunday it would pass Congress, putting in place the largest government intervention in markets since the Great Depression.” But the economic crisis has led to a tightening of the credit market that may still cripple U.S. automakers — and it isn’t clear that the bailout plan will do anything to ease the worsening auto credit situation.
