 2011 MINI Gets New Look

Four years after being introduced for the 2007 model year, the current generation MINI Cooper is set to receive a facelift for 2011.

While things do look similar between the 2010 and 2011 model MINIs, subtle changes abound. All 2011 MINI Cooper, Cooper Convertible and Cooper Clubman models receive updated front fascias.

Autoblog points out, “Of special note are the new integrated ducts on the fascias of the Cooper S and John Cooper Works models, offering a slightly meaner look to the Mini’s cute and cuddly face. The black reflector headlamps that debuted on the 50th anniversary Camden model are now available as an option across the board and all of the Mini variants now have LED lighting at the rear.”

Automobile Magazine adds, “Inside, Mini aficionados will notice the sound system and air conditioning controls utilize new designs.”

Of note is the volume knob’s move on up in the cabin from its former place near the HVAC controls to a more appropriate and less confusing spot in the stereo interface.

Updates to the engines will push base horsepower up to 122 and the turbocharged Cooper S horsepower up to 180.
