Auto news; Alaska Activebrush F1 – tested Winter grime gets brush-off
Given how harsh their winters can be, drivers in Scandinavia demand cleaning products that cut through the dirt quickly and easily. And that’s just what this new car cleaning brush does.
The Activebrush F1 has been launched by Alaska – which is the top-selling car care brand in Scandinavia. When submerged in a bucket of cleaning solution, its patented Aqua Chamber valve system allows 120ml of liquid to enter a reservoir. This is claimed to provide a steady stream of fluid for 20 seconds – although in our test, it didn’t work as well as we expected.
For starters, we had to twist the brush a full 180 degrees after putting it in the water for it to take on the full amount. Plus, we found the amount of liquid it delivered was inconsistent, while holding the brush at certain angles allowed the water to flow out much quicker – it even ran down our arm.
Nevertheless, the brush didn’t need much water to shift grime from our test car’s body. Its long bristles got between the spokes of our alloys well, and balanced cleaning power and softness for paint protection. The product is made of durable plastic, but rubber on the grip ensures it’s comfortable to use
