BMW medium Daily Auto News BMW Introduces X5 M Package

The BMW X5 M is a bona-fide sports SUV that starts at about $85,000 and comes with a staggering 555 horsepower. But even if you don’t have the cold hard cash to get into one, you can still look like you did with BMW’s new M Sport Package, set to debut at this week’s Geneva Motor Show (where they will also debut the 2011 X5).

The package comes with an upgraded chassis, special 19-inch wheels and other interior and exterior improvements, but it won’t add anything to the X5’s drivetrain.

Left Lane News details the enhancements: “The exterior of the X5 M Sport features a unique body kit, along with special exhaust tips. Satin-finish window surrounds and roof rails complete the SUV’s exterior look. Inside, the M Sport package adds adjustable sports seats, leather steering wheel and M driver’s footrest. Satin-finish fixtures also spruce up the X5’s cabin.”

No word yet on how much the package will cost. However, Autoblog is “willing to bet that it’ll probably carry a price around $6,500, which is what the current X5′s M kit commands.”
