BMW introduced its redesigned 2012 650i coupe Saturday, to go on sale this fall at dealerships around the U.S. The 650i coupe follows the introduction of the 650i convertible, which was introduced last fall and will soon go on sale. This super luxury sports car features all-new sheet metal that reviewers love. “BMW’s previous two attempts at the 6-Series models drew a fair amount of criticism, with many flat out calling the vehicles ugly,” writes Left Lane News. “But the new 6-Series is truly new, with more purposeful, bold lines that convey a more tangible sense of sport and finesse simultaneously.&rdquo.

The new 6-series coupe shares a powertrain with its convertible sibling. It gets BMW’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. The new coupe is three inches longer and an inch and a half wider than the outgoing model, and Inside Line predicts this will translate to increased interior space.

The 650i coupe’s interior will offer gadgets like lane departure warning, blind spot detection, a 3D heads-up display, and a 10.2-inch high-definition LCD navigation screen, according to Autoblog.

If you’re considering buying the new 6-series, don’t head to the bank just yet — BMW hasn’t released any price information for the 650i coupe. To give you some idea of the pricing, the 2012 650i convertible starts at $90,500 and the most recent model of the 650i coupe, the 2010, started at $78,450.
