2007 Honda Civic Group medium Daily Auto News Consumer Reports Says Honda Makes the Best Cars

According to Consumer Reports, “the best vehicles are built by Honda, Subaru, and Toyota,” CR has released its Automaker Report Cars as part of its annual auto issue. They conclude that the three Japanese automakers “make well-rounded cars that excel across the board, getting very good scores in…road tests and high marks in reliability from subscribers in [CR's] Annual Auto Survey.”.

Autoblog explains, “Honda was the brand that fared the absolute best in predicted reliability, with just its Element small SUV barely failing to make the grade as a Recommended nameplate. Toyota also fared very well in reliability testing, as we’ve come to expect from the world’s largest automaker.” Subaru scored below Honda overall, but every single Subaru vehicle earned a “recommended” rating. “European automakers managed to get a shout out for offering unmatched performance, comfort and safety,” but managed only “incremental increases in overall vehicle reliability.”

Among domestic brands, Ford tops the list. Chrysler fared the worst. CR writes, “Overall reliability of Chrysler vehicles, which was average last year, dropped to below average this year. No Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep vehicles are recommended.”
