Daily Auto News Ferrari 599 GTO Sold Out
Daily Auto News

The Ferrari 599 GTO, the fastest street-legal car ever, debuted last week. Today reports indicate that it’s sold out. Didn’t we tell you to put your wallets away.
According to Autocar, production of the 661-horsepower beast was limited to 599 vehicles and has only “been shown to prospective customers at a private viewing at the Modena Ducal Palace military academy.” Each sold for £300,000 — roughly $460,000. (599 super cars x $460,000 each = a whole lot of cheddar)
Is it worth the price? You be the judge. According to Autoblog, the “599 can sprint to 62 miles per hour from a standstill in a scant (and very specific) 3.35 seconds, with a top speed in excess of 208 mph, while lapping the Fiorano test track from which its donor’s name is derived in a blitzing 1 minute, 24 seconds.” Meanwhile, Jalopnik describes the Ferrari 599 GTO’s looks as “a Viper SRT10 mixed with hot sex and, err…what’s the word..ah, yes, style.”
Teasing us all, Ferrari will put the 599 GTO on public display at the Beijing Motor Show later this month. Be sure to look, but don’t dare touch.
