The Fiat brand will be rolled out in the U.S. next month with no-haggle pricing as one of its features, according to Laura Soave, the head of the brand’s American arm. Fiat dealers will be encouraged not to offer deals below the manufacturer-suggested sticker price to eliminate the chance to haggle as well as minimizing competition between dealerships, according to an interview with Bloomberg. “The pricing is the pricing,” said Soave to Bloomberg. “The younger generation doesn’t haggle. They don’t feel comfortable with it. They hate the experience.&rdquo.

Soave says that Fiat is aiming this policy and other aspects of its brand at younger shoppers. Fiat’s funky styling and fuel efficiency also make it likely to attract young buyers. AutoBlog notes the similarity to now-defunct Saturn, a discontinued, youth-oriented GM brand that also advertised no-haggle pricing at its dealerships.

Fiat, which holds a 20% stake in the newly-named Chrysler Group LLC, provides the American automaker with the platform for a set of urban subcompact cars like the Fiat 500 and 300, according to the Washington Post.

This policy will mean a few things for car shoppers with a Fiat on their list. Haggling for a better deal can be intimidating and a hassle, so a no-haggle policy can make closing the deal on a car more relaxing and less time-consuming. However, it also means that the buyer no longer has the opportunity to argue the price down from the sticker price, which many times include a substantial margin in case a lower price is negotiated.
