On April Fool’s Day, five lucky trivia contest winners will dig in a giant sandbox in the hopes of winning a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Islander.
Jeep’s Tiki Hut event, which will be aired at 7 am EDT via live webcast on Facebook and Twitter, takes place outside the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. The contestants will dig for a golden Jeep tiki statue.
“Jeep fans are proud of their adventurous reputation, so a contest that involves digging in a giant sandbox should be to their taste,” says Edmunds Inside Line.
The Islander is a limited edition Wrangler model with a tropical flair. It comes with unique surf blue inserts on the seats, embroidered Islander logos, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with surge blue stitching, all-terrain tires, and a Tiki/Islander hood emblem.
According to Jeep, there will be even more chances to win an Islander at JeepTikiHunt.com, starting April 1. As long as this isn’t all just an elaborate April Fool’s hoax, it’s a great marketing scheme for Jeep.
