Daily Auto News Mazda Miata Gets Manlier, Sort Of
Daily Auto News

Finally, an MX-5 Miata that a man can drive with confidence.
“Called the Black & Matte, the roadster was unveiled at the Salon du Cabriolet, Coupé & SUV,” reports Motor Crave. “It was developed in conjunction with France design house LK and supposedly features rhinestones, gems and crystals…”
Ok, maybe not total confidence. But the restyled MX-5 does feature black matte paint, which gives it a somewhat more aggressive look. And if that wasn’t fierce enough, promotional photos feature a beautiful blonde wielding a sharp sword… seriously.
However, its underpinnings remain the same. According to Autoblog, “There’s nothing special underhood, so the 2.0-liter four still puts out an adequate 167 horsepower.”
No word yet on whether this roadster is just for show or will be become a limited special edition. Left Lane News writes, “It is unclear if Mazda will actually offer a matte finish MX-5 in its French lineup, or if it will follow the lead of so many other automakers that have shown gloss-free cars but have never made them a part of their official offerings.”
