MINI unveils Scooter concept for Paris show In another shock move for the brand, MINI will debut a two-wheeled electric concept at Paris.
Meet the two-wheeled future of MINI! Following hot on the heels of the Countryman and the Moke comes this – a plug-in electric scooter concept that will premiere at the Paris Motor Show.
Called the MINI E Scooter Concept, the bike features scaled down versions of all the classic MINI design cues, including the large iconic speedometer, oval wing mirrors and squared off rear lights. The use of chrome and other material is also designed to make the scooter instantly recognisable as a part of the MINI family.    ÂÂ
The grey and luminous green colour scheme is borrowed from the MINI E electric car, and so is the drivetrain: a single electric motor is integrated into the rear wheel, and power comes from a compact lithium-ion battery stored under the seat. The battery can be charged from any standard A/C power outlet, via a retractable cable at the back of the scooter.
There will be two different interpretations of the Scooter concept at the show, and expect more details and official photos to emerge in the build-up to the Paris show, but if it receives a positive reaction than there is a strong possibility that it could make production, and become the smallest MINI yet!
