MINI unwraps Coupe endurance racer MINI reveals a one-off motorsport version of its new Coupe set to compete at the Nurburgring 24 Hours in Germany

Hot on the heels of releasing the new Coupé, MINI has now launched a one-off racing version of its new model to grab the headlines by competing in the Nurburgring 24 hr race in Germany.

The MINI Coupé Endurance is powered by a tweaked version of the John Cooper Work’s 1.6-litre turbo engine, sending 247bhp to the front wheels via a racing six-speed sequential gearbox.

Peak torque climbs to 330Nm during overboost conditions, and the Coupé Endurance is capable of topping 150mph, paving the way for a more powerful production version of the two seater to appear in the future.

Other enhancements include a welded interior roll-cage, fully adjustable suspension, six-point harnesses a bigger fuel tank, plus Dunlop Racing slicks as well as that eye-catching racing livery.

The Coupé will enter the race this weekend, alongside other rare racers including the Aston Martin Zagato and James Glickenhaus’s Ferrari P4/5.
