Recall Alert: 2006 – 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor

2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor medium Recall Alert: 2006 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor

Look out – literally. Mitsubishi is issuing a recall because of malfunctioning software that could end up limiting the driver’s field of vision. The recall affects 19,410 2006 – 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavors.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) explains the recall: “Due to an incorrect heater (HVAC) controller signal, the air flow from the air vents may randomly change direction and/or temperature may briefly cycle between hot and cold.”

Although this may not seem like a big deal, it is. Consumer Reports writes “If the windshield defroster were affected then poor visibility could cause a crash.” Obviously if you can’t see where you’re going, the likelihood of a crash increases.

“If your vehicle is affected by this issue make sure to head to the nearest Mitsubishi dealer after December 1 for a no-cost repair,” reports Autoblog, who adds “A technician will inspect your vehicle for damage and, if necessary, repair the mode door shaft.”

If you’re the owner of a 2006 – 2008 Endeavor and have questions, contact Mitsubishi directly at 1-800-222-0037 or call the NHTSA’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
