Daily Auto News Recall Alert: 2008-2010 Volvo XC70
Daily Auto News

Volvo is recalling certain 2008, 2009 and 2010 XC70 models for containing incorrect tire inflation information. The recall affects Volvo XC70 models manufactured from Dec. 5, 2006 through Oct. 1, 2009.
Cars.com explains: “The listed maximum tire pressure is incorrect on the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard label, the tire and loading information label and a page in the owner’s manual.” The incorrect information could lead some owners to overinflate their tires — which can negatively impact handling and cause tires to explode.
Volvo has announced a remedy. “Dealers will inspect the vehicles and, if necessary, install a new tire and loading information label and tire pressure management software,” reports Consumer Affairs. “The owners manual will also be updated.”
According to the NHTSA: “The service will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during May 2010. Owners my contact Volvo at 1-800-458-1552.”
