Recall Alert: 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour

Honda is recalling 3,336 2010 Accord Crosstour vehicles due to issues with its airbag, according to the government.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) recall database, “the frontal passenger airbag may not deploy as intended,” and pose a risk to an unbelted child in the front passenger seat at risk. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Consumer Reports says “Recent testing revealed that the air bag does not meet a portion of the government test regulations of air bag deployment on an unbelted six-year old sized dummy in the front seat.” Although it is not recommended to let a child ride in the front seat, this procedure is still tested.
Owners of 2010 Honda Accord Crosstours who are affected can expect the recall to begin on September 22. “Honda dealers will inspect and replace the passenger airbag module if necessary at no charge,” reports KickingTires.
For more information, customers may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009 or NHTSA’s safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
