Daily Auto News Recall Alert: Subaru Outback, Legacy
Daily Auto News

Subaru has issued a recall order on 2010 Legacy sedans and Outback wagons equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), in order to correct a defect that could cause transmission failure, and could contribute to an accident.
In a recall notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the automaker explains, “a crack or split can occur in the CVT cooler hose resulting in a fluid leak” in these vehicles. “If the fluid is completely leaked during driving, the vehicle will come to a stop, possibly resulting in a crash.”
Subaru dealers will replace the CVT cooler hoses in recalled vehicles free of charge. Subaru has not yet announced a schedule for the recall, but owners should expect to receive a notice in the mail. Those who wish to make their own repair arrangements may contact Subaru at 1-856-488-8500.
