It was only a matter of time before the Puppy Bowl gained significant traction against the big game on February 6th. In addition to sponsoring the event, Subaru is encouraging dog owners to get out and enjoy some quality time with man’s best friend. “Subaru of America, Inc., while enjoying an epic “tail” of record sales, once more separates itself from the pack of Big Game advertisers with its “Dog Tested. Dog Approved.” campaign and the new Subaru Game Day Dog Walk Event,” writes Subaru. “The walk event, held on “Super Sunday,” February 6, is a healthy, active alternative to sitting on the couch for an all-day football-watching marathon – and a great way for dog owners to get outside and show their love for their four-legged friends.&rdquo.

“The new Subaru Game Day Dog Walk Event asks dog owners to pledge to walk their pooches on Super Bowl Sunday via Subaru.com or Facebook,” says Edmunds. “Instead of tracking touchdowns, dog lovers will see ‘an up-to-the minute tracker that streams a live count of the number of dogs walking across the country.’”

Subaru plans to send free “Doggie MVP Packs” to participants while supplies last, which include water bowls, Frisbees, stuffed toys, blankets and engraved dog tags. Interested dog owners can register at www.subaru.com/dogs.
