Toyota Yaris from £11,170 Toyota reveals pricing for its new sportier, more efficient Yaris
The all-new Toyota Yaris is on sale now from £11,170 – but buyers looking for tax-busting emissions will have to wait.
Sportier looks mark out the supermini, and as it’s 100mm longer than before, there’s more space inside. Spec is improved, too. Yet despite better efficiency across the range, none of the three engines dips below the 100g/km CO2 mark to give exemption from road tax.
From launch, there are two petrol units mated to manual gearboxes: a 1.0-litre offering 58.9mpg economy and 111g/km emissions, and a 1.33-litre with 52.3mpg and 123g/km. The latter can be specified with a CVT auto, to give 56.5mpg and 118g/km.
A 1.4-litre diesel model claims 72.4mpg economy and 104g/km emissions. It will be joined in the middle of next year by a hybrid. This mates a petrol 1.5-litre to an electric motor, for 90mpg and 80g/km, and should cost £1,500 more than the £14,760 diesel. Deliveries begin in September.
