Your Car Wants to Feel Pretty

Car lashes article Your Car Wants to Feel Pretty

Any woman (or drag queen) can tell you that a set of falsies (eyelashes, that is) can do wonders for your looks. Now your car wants in on the action.

Autoblog reports, “A company named Carlashes hopes to cash in on the whole “car as face” theme by offering big, curly headlamp eyelashes that would make Betty Boop jealous. Seriously. This aftermarket glamification is apparently available for $24.95, but that’s not all! If ridiculous eyelashes aren’t enough, you can add “Crystal Eyeliner” for an additional $19.95. That clear, rhinestone-style bling appears to attaches [sic] directly to the paint.”

Jezebel says, “I’m not really down with the whole “they make my car look cute and girlie!” sales angle of Carlashes, but put them on a kindergarten school bus or daycare van and it’s A++, would do business again.”

Autoblog adds, “Like you, we’re astonished and horrified.”

If your car is lacking that come-hither look, you can check out carlashes.com (just be warned the site has been having bandwidth issues). You can also check out carlashes on facebook, where the company says their product will “turn your ultimate driving machine into a pretty, pretty princess.”

As TheGloss.com points out, “Your car doesn’t demand much. It keeps you cool in the summer, hot in the winter. It doesn’t complain when you refuse to walk five blocks to the deli. And all your car wants in return is to be beautiful. Maybe throw some rainbows now and then. Is an enormouses [sic] pair of false eyelashes to highlight its lights really so much to ask? Or do you just want your car to go all Christine on you?”
